more than 230 injured in a stampede yesterday in a
Yemeni stadium where President Ali Abdullah Salih was
holding a pre-election rally, a Yemeni official said.
Most of the dead were believed to be schoolchildren
and teenagers who had been bused to the stadium by the
authorities.
