Egyptian blogger 'faces court martial'

Stories are circulating on the internet that a young Egyptian named Ahmed Mustafa is about to be court-martialled for remarks he posted in a blog.

There are not many details but it seems that he complained about someone being removed from a military college so that a rich kid could take his place. He has also been questioned about his activities in the 6 April youth movement.

He is said to have been charged with "disseminating news and information distort the image of the armed forces".

Commenting on the case at Egyptian Chronicles, Zeinobia
writes: "From a legal point of view Mustafa should not be prosecuted in front of a military court. From a logic point of view he should not prosecuted at all because he did not breach any military secrets."
